I was glad to find a source for these lines, as Sears has stopped carrying the mulcher, which is good for my use at home. These lines seem to be made of a new and tougher plastic as they lasted long enough to mulch all the leaves this year, nine bags worth, where the lines that came with the mulcher wore down at a much faster rate, a pair every two bags or so.

This mulcher does a good job on dry leaves, but wet material will place a heavy load on the motor and the process becomes somewhat slower. For compost piles mulch is so much better than the leaves and for small jobs this product is highly recommended.



Too expensive - buy direct from mfg - R. Dahlgren - Dallas, TX
Typically Amazon is cheaper than manufacturer but not in this case. You can buy from Flowtron for 60% less. you pay shipping but that's OK. Best deal is to buy the kit so you have the replacement parts plus 36 lines for only .95. Takes a little longer to receive so plan ahead. We order a kit every year.

This machine is a total waste of money if you just want to break the leaves. It will take something much bigger. I have had numerous problems and carburetor is very difficult to work with. I recommend looking elsewhere

I have a 1998 version of this shredder for eight years, owned and finally gave away. I am planning a Bearcat 8HP or similar (more robust upgrade) shredder.

I have 2.1 acres of Douglas fir trees, the branches fall in storms, like those tend met on December 14. I had to remove the ivy and blackberries, I knew that a blue bin waste site 2x a month would never intersect. I bought my shredder at the local Home Depot, especially since I did not know what else is outthere, and it seemed a good product (for now).

I discovered over the years that really only wear a very light car, and uses it quite easily. I just did my use 2-4 times a year, if I built a battery, but everything that can be worn has.

Overall, this machine seems to work well. I have a small yard in a suburban area with two large trees: a Honey Locust on the fronds with small leaves and a sugar maple tree with large leaves. There are also some leaves from our neighbors and Lille. The reason why I bought the Leaf Eater was to reduce these leaves for composting. This piles of leaves swept our compost heap and I had to use other rooms. The Leaf-eater was the volume of leaves reducessignificantly from the first rough current, and then develop as others have mentioned (although may not be as much as advertised) - a rough estimate of about 80% for the oak leaves and other large leaves and 60% for the Honey Locust. As people have noticed that is very strong and there are a lot of dust, ear, eye and respiratory protection are a must - and I had all my clothes washed after use. I was able to work without haste and especially avoid bogging down.The car has a little 'how to cut the cords were cut in length and had the device bounce a bit,' until I had the strings (the last fasting). I can mount the brackets on the car with a garbage can and have entered the air filter cleaned after every wheelbarrow load of others. So far I've only got, like 8 or pressure on him from time and time issues - but so far so-good. Branches and sticks - The branches have been processed, but the branches slightly largerI finally was passed around the outer circumference, where I took when I was there - and they did reduce the length of the strings, but otherwise no big deal. ASSEMBLY - very directly, and I did it without an assistant - even though I watch very mechanical. I could shred four sacks in a small pile of leaves, mulched and composted, rather than the end immediately. There are still shreds a good amount of ivy, although it all with a touch of wood fibers (small sticks, thick ivy stems, stems of woody plants) had to be removed if not stop, or better still painstakingly removed before shredding. If it is too full, you must disable and unstuf it is, but it's just a shredder angling, which is the hardest material, ate faster linewith the exception of a few centimeters, but it comes with plenty of replacement.

This product has to fit probably 20 minutes. So the only product I would like "okay". It 's too weak and a lot of dust. Leaves must be destroyed twice: once on the "gross" and the second time to "end". This is a space-saving bags and has reduced many of the leaves, some ... this is a big plus. After much research, reading reviews and reading reviews I decided to buy this car. I did a pre-purchase agreement on some of the negative reviews of customers in this forum is based. I also visited one of these machines in person at a local shop for a firsthand look at some of the questions that customers receive their contributions, he complained. My first purchase was to include the following topics:

During this visit, I asked a few comments for better performance. Below is a list of topics, and what I have on them.


* I discovered that it is daylightvacuum seal between the nozzle for the hacker / shredder housing. Consequently, a loss of vacuum suction to the leaves (one of the negative actions of some reviews) is. My solution: I removed the suction nozzle is installed and an O-ring seal with silicone type is the face of the nozzle. Result is then sucked up leaves like a vacuum cleaner.

So I took the car and came back, limbs and branches in the feed hackers for about two hours without any problem. Ate the limbs of a diameter as small as my grandson chew cookies.Yes, he was a member more than 1 - ½ inches in diameter are fed a bit 'slower, but the machine chewed well. I saved a ladder, pull down on the smallest things and ensure that all members were fully aligned.


After that, I suck leaves and acorns for about an hour. As I said before, it sucked, just like a vacuum cleaner. Overall, I have three bags full of brush and limbs and empty and chipped two bags of shredded leaves. The material was crushedlarge and were immediately used for mixing with soil to fill some low points in my garden.

After my first use, I can take the motor fuel, which is to avoid the rubber carburetor. And I made sure it was all limbs and leaves, shredded and completely eliminated the chipper chute. This has ensured that there is no strength side when I started the next time being.

In summary, this is a good car, if you follow someCommon sense changes to installation and operational concepts that I have described. I was happy to find a source for these lines, as Sears has ceased to carry the mower, which is good for my home use. These lines seem to be made from a new, harder plastic as mulch They long enough to be worth all the leaves this year, nine pockets, Which brought the lines that the mower to flesh with a much faster rate, a pair of all two bags or so.

This mower does a good job on dry leaves, but the moist material is a heavy load on the engine room and the process more slowly. Piles of litter material is much better than leaves and small works of this material is highly recommended.

In general, Amazon is cheaper than the manufacturer, but not in this case. You can buy from Flowtron for 60% less. You pay shipping, but that's OK. Best deal is to buy the kit so that spare parts, plus 36 lines for only $ 20.95 have. It takes a little 'more to get so plan ahead. We order a kit for years.
